Reasons for hair loss in men and how it can be prevented by John Callum
Baldness is now a growing phenomenon worldwide and is a trait generally observed in men than in women. Over the past few years, advanced research has gone into this field and though certain breakthroughs have been made, scientists are yet to find the perfect formula to counteract baldheadedness.
Till about half a century ago, hair loss was seen as a hereditary disorder passed down through generations and was a common phenomenon seen in people who had crossed the age of 50. But nowadays, receding hair lines are being increasingly noticed among people, specifically males in the age bracket between 20 and 40. Why has there been such a sudden increase in the number of people suffering from hair loss? We examine them one by one. The first and most obvious reason is heredity as genetic factors are known to influence hair loss. Secondly we are living in an environment where the climates have undergone rapid change and dermatologists claim that this has caused havoc to our hair. Also we are living in an era where using cosmetic products have become a norm and these include products such as soaps, dyes, gel creams, shampoos, oils, etc. Many of these contain dangerous chemicals which can accelerate hair loss but without knowing the perils, people continue to use them.
It is very difficult to reverse the balding process and though hair weaving is an option to replace the bald scalps, not many can afford it. Therefore people for whom the first signs of baldness are showing and even for those who haven
