Top 5 AK-47 Airsoft Guns by Jacob T Anderson
The AK-47 is the most popular rifle in the world today and has been for at least the last 50 years. It has seen conflicts of all kinds in the hands of the good guys and the bad guys, and has established a reputation for being one of the most reliable automatic firearms ever conceived. The AK-47 is incredibly popular in the world of airsoft as well, especially among the Chinese manufacturers. Endless numbers of variants exist to fit all play styles and with real wood furniture they are some of the nicest replicas to look at as well. With so many models it can be hard to choose which AK is best, so here we've rounded up the top 5.
5. Jing Gong AK-47 S-BT - This AK from Jing Gong is one of the best CQB weapons around. It comes at an affordable price and features both Full Metal construction and real wood furniture. This model also comes with a folding rear stock that when retracted makes the gun extremely easy to wield. With the stock folded the gun is just over 2/3 of its normal size. It fires over 400FPS using .2g BBs and comes with a 600 round magazine and 8.4V battery. Dropping a weaker spring in this AEG will bring it down to about 350FPS and increase rate of fire quite a bit, making it an even more appropriate CQB weapon.
4. D-Boys RK03-WS - D-Boys are known for having excellent externals for the money and this AK-47 replica proves the point. The full metal body of this AEG is made from stamped steel, not pot metal like some of the cheaper brands. The handguard is also made from real wood and combined with the detail on the receivers this is an amazing looking replica. It is also the most affordable gun on this list. This gun is also a folding stock model, and the stock is made from thick steel that is extremely difficult to break. An AK Style Scope mount, 450 round magazine and 8.4V 1100mAh battery are included. This AEG comes with the version 3 gearbox that fixed a lot of the problems inherent in the version 2 gearboxes. It fires around 390FPS using .2g BBs.
3. CYMA CM052 - This replica from CYMA is modeled on the RPK, a light machinegun variant of the AK-47. Again this AEG comes with full metal receivers and barrel, and real wood handguard and stock. The folding bipod attached to the barrel is also metal. This gun is so heavy it's actually slightly tiring to carry it around and everything feels very solid. It fires 420FPS using .2g BBs which is impressive for a stock AEG. Included in the package is a 420 round magazine and 9.4V battery. The larger battery combined with this gun's high torque motor make for a pretty scary rate of fire. For a long range sniper or support gunner psoition this is the AK to get.
2. TSD Gen II AK47 - This replica is actually the most basic of all the others on the list. It is a standard AK-47 with a full stock. This one has full metal receivers and barrel along with real wood stock, foregrip and Pistol Grip. It weighs in around eight pounds. Included in the package are two 600 round magazines and an SRC P46 barrel extension that really improves the accuracy. This AEG fires around 390FPS using .2g BBs and actually has a metal hopup design. The tried and true principle of "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" has been applied here and the result is a standard, no-frills reliable AK-47.
1. SRC AK47 - This AK-47 from SRC is a full tactical model. With the stock folded it comes in at under two feet long and has everything needed for a CQB game. It features anodized aluminum receivers, an aluminum barrel and a steel 600 round magazine. Even the extra parts like the mag catch, charging handle and sights are made from steel. This AEG comes equipped with integrated rails along the top and bottom of the foregrip, detachable folding vertical grip and an attached flashlight. With the folding stock retracted this gun can almost be fired one handed despite all the attachments. It fires around 330FPS using .2g BBs and the gearbox is fitted with 6mm metal ball bearings. An 8.4V battery is included.
These are currently the top AK-47s in their class and represent a great deal. These are all reliable guns that will function properly for a long time if properly maintained. With tactical variants, snipers, light machine guns, CQB machines and assault rifles there truly is an AK out there for everybody.
