Swift Scopes by Grant Mills
Founded in 1926, Swift Optical Instruments was based in Lakewood, CO. Swift had a vision that involved high quality optical devices that were good performers, yet still affordable. Like most optical companies, they offer a assorted variety of optical products like rifle scopes, binoculars, and spotting scopes. In terms of rifle scopes, Swift has a full line of products that will cover just about everything except muzzleloaders..
Swift sells riflescopes under two different levels: the SwiftReliant series and the SwiftPremier series.Both series are substantially different. The SwiftReliant is an entry level series of 7 scopes that includes both fixed and variable powered models. All the variable powered models within the Reliant series are produced in a 3X9 variable configuration. The SwiftReliant models are really made for those shooters and hunters that want a basic no frills scope at a lower price.
On the other side of the Reliant series is the more expensive SwiftPremier series. The Premier models offer a greater number of scope choices, and is considered Swift's top of the line offering. The Premier models are only available in adjustable powers and come in configurations from a 2.5 power all the way up to an 8X32. Featuring higher quality glass, the Premier series offers more light gathering and a better picture compared to the SwiftReliant models.If you happen to be in the market for a great scope, try to SwiftPremier 671M. This model features a huge 50mm objective which allows as much light as possible into the scope. The 3X9 adjustable power is great for close to medium range shooting. If you happen to need either higher magnification or are shooting at longer distances (200+ yards), you might want to take a look at the SwiftPremier 669M. This model has a 44mm objective along with a 6X18 adjustable power. The 44mm objective will gather plenty of light when you need to make that difficult shot.
The major differences between the two different families include the fact that SwiftPremier models come with a lifetime warranty versus SwiftReliant models have a 2 year limited warranty. The SwiftPremier models also feature better glass, better components, and a higher quality sight picture.
Swift also offers a Pistol Scope line that features 6 different scopes at various low powered settings. Each features the extended eye relief needed for pistol scopes and a wide field of view.
If you are in the market for a nice scope and don't want to pay $200 or more, then the Swift series might be a good fit for you.
